ProAgria Southern Finland is an extension union for agriculture and rural areas, owned by farmers. The core of operation is advisory services to the farmers and to small rural enterprises in the five southernmost provinces of Finland: Uusimaa, Kymenlaakso, Häme, Etelä-Karjala and Pirkanmaa. The services include specific advising services to milk, beef and sheep farms; to crop production farms and to rural enterprises. ProAgria has departments for drainage and water planning, environmental services, rural women organization, advising services for fishery organizations, building and investment planning. A subsidiary provides real estate sales services, and an affiliated company provides accounting and financial consulting services. The turnover was in 2013 11,4 million euro, with 160 employees. About 2,2 million euro from the turnover consists of various projects. Most of the projects are domestic rural development projects, but ProAgria has also long experience of international cooperation. The rural women organization has rural scenery planning and environment protection experts, the drainage and water-planning department have many references from large scale river basin planning and the agricultural production experts and experts for the management and financial reporting of the projects complete a team.
